Bringing Back Brown

Brown kitchen cabinets have gone through major influxes in popularity. During the 1970s, brown cabinets were the celebrated standard — they were both earthy and neutral and enhanced a cozy feeling in the kitchen space. Nowadays, wooden cabinets are often the first thing to go in home renovations!

Over the past two years, however, we have seen an uptick in the number of people looking to install natural wood cabinets in their new construction or largely remodeled homes.

In this write-up, we want to highlight two of these kitchen renovations — one in Watchung, the other in Morristown — to show you that brown, wooden cabinets can be all that you need!

Morristown

The lush, natural world beyond these large kitchen windows serves as the perfect environment for contemporary wooden cabinets. The marble countertops also help add to the lighter atmosphere, enhanced further by the orb light fixtures.

Watchung

We photographed this space during a storm, and you can tell by the tranquil nature of the kitchen that the rain would only add to this ambiance! Offset by the white backsplash and countertops, these cabinets add the perfect contrast to make this kitchen feel more “home-y”.
